About U Be U Active

The three facilitators of U BE U Active are all qualified High School PDHPE teachers. Jess, Peter and Renato collectively have over 70 years of education experience.

U Be U Active is a project born out of a love for teaching and physical activity and our passion for sharing outdoors activities with others.

Our Teachers

  • Hi I’m Jess! 

    I am one of the U Be U Active facilitators. I have been teaching for 5 years, specialising in PDHPE (Physical Development, Health, and Physical Education) and Food Technology. I am really passionate and love being active and outdoors! This is reflected not only in my career but in my lifestyle. I thrive on movement and am always on the go, which is why I enjoy participating in triathlons in my spare time.

    At U Be U Active, I’m the person behind the screen. I respond to all the emails and messages!

    A fun fact about me is that I came 7th in the world in the Aquathlon world champs!

  • Hi I’m Peter

    I have been a physical education and health teacher for over 30 years. My expertise is in sport and games. My focus is on using sport and physical activity to bring together groups of people of all ages. Social interaction through physical activity is a great way to not only enhance all aspects of health for the individual but also bring communities together.

    For me being part of the community is an essential aspect of well being.  Seeing people experience camping, sleeping under the stars with their mates for the first time or playing a social game of sport with or against their friends and family is the best.

  • Hi I’m Renato! 

    I have been teaching for over 30 years in the PDHPE faculty. I have extensive experience in programming and implementing welfare and outdoor recreation activities and camps. I have run an outdoor recreation camp for years 7-10 each year for 30 years!  Outside of school, I love practicing spirituality and meditation.

    At U Be U Active, I am the outdoor recreation man! I teach the kids how to make fires!

    A fun fact about me - my doppelganger is Costa off Gardening Australia, but I am better looking!
